We are currently looking for a Railroad Conductor. The Railroad Conductor will coordinate the daily activity of the train and train crew, ensuring the timely operation of the train and safety of passengers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Directs and assists train crew, providing training and demonstration of appropriate methods for connecting and uncoupling cars, operating switches, and making repairs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Manages and facilitates the safe and efficient operation of the train and crew.

· Reviews cargo loading and unloading documentation to ensure that cargo is loaded and unloaded correctly.

· Inspects train and equipment prior to departure to ensure that equipment is in safe working condition and is in compliance with regulations and requirements.

· Communicates with other conductors or stations through radio or telephone.

· Maintains vigilant observation of train, cargo areas, and station, reporting any suspicious activities and taking appropriate actions.

· Assists Locomotive Engineer with operation of locomotive equipment.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Successful completion of a six-week training program or equivalent required.

· Current driver’s license required.

· Three years of related work experience required.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of standing and traversing railroad cars and tracks.

· Must be able to visually inspect locomotive vehicles in all types of weather.

· Must be able to lift, push, pull, climb, sit, and stand.

· Must be able to identify and distinguish colors and hear warning signals.

· Must be able to walk up to a mile on rough terrain.

· Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
